Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and the brand new Barbara Bush Literacy Plaza at the Downtown Central Library!
Explore Hispanic culture through the generations as we enjoy dance performances, fun crafts, and trace ancient cultural traditions. Discover this rich heritage with an array of games, Latin dance classes, bilingual storytimes, and more!
Activities on the Barbara Bush Literacy Plaza will include:
- Cultural performances and music representing Houston’s Hispanic Heritage
- Latin dance classes on the Plaza
- Bilingual puppet and magic shows
- Traditional family games and Skull face painting
- Cooking demo and conversation about the ancient history of Texas Mexican cuisine
