Clayton Library Presents: Basic Scandinavian Research Online
Many with Scandinavian ancestry are intimidated with research “across the pond”, but it needn’t be scary. A basic understanding of some of the characteristics of the Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Norway, Sweden and their territories) helps take away some of that hesitation. Patronymics is the biggest issue (so we’ll start there), but there are also calendar changes, geography, language, and church records. This is an introduction to show it’s possible, even for those of us who don’t speak their language! Presented by guest speaker Diana Smith.
